We propose a CAD (Computer aided diagnosis) system to analyze the osteoporosis by using image processing techniques from the CR images. The techniques extract the spine by using a histogram which is obtained peripheral distribution and measure the shape of the spine. Afterwards, the height of the edge of the back, front and center of the spine is measured before evaluation is performed. The proposed method is performed to 36 cases which combined normal and abnormal cases and satisfactory results are obtained.
