The method of investigation was as follows: (1) Ten. healthy male rabbits of nearly the same weight received injecktions subcutaneously in their epilated and sterilized backs of thirty cubic centimetres of their own urine, which was generally acid in reaction. (2) Seven rabbits were given injecktions of thirty. cubic centimetres of their own urine filtred with a Berkefeld's filter. (3) Seven rabbits received injecktions of thirty cubic centimetres of physiologicalsalt solution. A mixture of 0.8 cubic centimetres of auricular vein blood of the animals treated as above, and 0.2 cubic centimetres of 5% sodium citrate solution was put into a Linzenmeier's test tube with a diameter of 0.5 centimetre. It was shaken twice and was placed vertically at the room-temperature. It was proved through the examination that, (a) The acceleration of the precipitation velocity of the test animals included in (1) was very noticeable compared with that in the untreated healthy ones or those in (3). b) The velocity began to rise three hours after the injection and reached ist heighest on the third to the eighth day. (c) The velocity was most markedly accelerated thirty minutes to four hours after the blood was taken, but thenceforth it was not notcieably different from the normal. (d) There was no difference in the velocity between (1) and (2).
