As a third report on the cognitive game experiments, I introduce here a Stroop effect game experiment. I made the game situation on a Windows XP PC with a program of the HSP language. The Stroop effect is caused by a cognitive conflict between 'naming' of the color of a color word and 'reading' of the word colored with another color. In the experiment, four color words (red, blue, green, yellow) which were colored with these four colors, and written in four word-styles (hiragana, kanji, English, katakana) were prepared. When one of the stimulus words was presented in the middle of the PC display, the subject responded with the mouse buttons whether the color of the word and the word meaning was 'congruent' or 'incongruent' as rapidly and correctly as possible. Mean response time measures of the experimental results showed there was a clear Stroop effect which made a significant delay of the response time of the 'incongruent' stimulus compared to the 'congruent' ones regardless of the word-styles.
