TS-111 The Development of New Ni-Base Superalloy (MGA2400) for 1500℃-Class Gas Turbine Vane(Session D-7 Materials)

The turbine inlet temperature of the latest industrial gas turbine has been reached 1500℃. This trend requires development of advanced superalloys for high temperature parts a such as combuster, turbine blade and turbine vane. Up to now, Co-base superalloy has been widely used up to now for stationary vanes, But, advanced industrial gas turbine reqested high strength (stress rupture strength, thermal fatigue strength, etc.) vane superalloy compair to the now-using Co-base superalloy. In response to this demand, the authers started to develop a new Ni-base vane superalloy using its our own alloy-design system. A new Ni-base vane superalloy "MGA2400" was developed. It was confirmed that MGA2400 has good castability, good high temperature strength, good anti-corrosion/oxidation properties and good weldability. As a results, MGA2400 vanes have been started to use in the 1500℃-class gas turbine since 1997.
