155 h-Adaptivity Analysis of Nonlinear Multi-material Structures using Meshfree Methods with Discontinuous Derivative Basis Function

Multiple Scale MLSA with Discontinuous Derivative Basis Function (MS-MLSA-DBF) is developed borrowing the idea of Multiple Scale Reproducing Kernel Particle Method. By the wavelet-like multiresolution analysis features of MS-MLSA-DBF, the structural responses can be decomposed to several different scales. The wavelet-like solutions indicates the high-gradient/error regions of the responses directly without posterior error estimation using edge detection technique of image processing. The scheme of h-adaptivity analysis of nonlinear multiple material structures is proposed. Throughout numerical examples, the effectiveness and validity of the proposed MS-MLSA-DBF and h-adaptivity techniques are verified.
