In this paper, we present a level set method using active contours model to detected cancer region in medical ultrasound images. In case of speckle reduction as the preprocessing, it often happened to lose the boundary of organization or small tumor because of blurring from noise reduction. Then, we proposed cellular neural network based new method to reduce speckle of ultrasound image with strengthening the boundary. Then we find out cancer boundary or extracted shape using level set based contour. There are two approached methods many variation boundary extractions. The first, be called the snake used minimized energy method that is searched initial snake points on transferred boundary parts of the images. Another method is basic of level set theory repetitive curve evolution method. The snake's model is difficult processing about evolved phase variation. And, snake movement is very sensitive initial snake situation. However proposed model is easy solution curve phase variation and compared previous methods considerably are free initial curve evolution position setting. Unlike snake model based contour, level set based contour do not need hand making initialization and is strong to change topologically. Then it could be said to fit to region detecting like medical ultrasound images.
