Some aspects of topological quantum field theories (TQFT's) in higher dimensioms are discussed from both physical and mathematical points of view. Although TQFT's which we will discuss can be formulated in any dimension, we focus mainly on higher dimensional TQFT's, where "higher dimensions" mean dimensions equal to or more than four. We will see that TQFT's in higher dimensions have a lot of interesting features and applicatoins for physics and mathematics, thus the importance of three space-time dimensions is at least in some respects an illusion.
