Following Ground Law of Food Education, programs of food education for infants have been carried out extensively in nursery schools conforming to Guide for Food Education in Nursery School. Through questionnaire to students of our Department of Early Child Education, I studied their recognition on food education and self-efficacy about their own food life. Importance of food education for infants is well recognized by the students but self-efficacy of their own food life is low at almost all items of questionnaire. Difference between the recognition and the self-efficacy is small at items leaned in home economics in high school or in every day experience. Therefore, it is important for improving students self-efficacy to enrich current major lectures "infant dietetics" and "practice of infant health" and also to introduce lecture on teaching materials for child care.
