What kind of knowledge will a Chinese university teach a university student? Does a university teach practical knowledge of a high specialty being aware of the talented person image which a company demands in the labor market? Or does a university teach general education to train a future member of society? This is the problem of what kind of relations should have been between higher education and occupations. Using the survey data for a person of university graduate in 2006, this paper analyzes the characteristics of a Chinese university education. At the same time, how these characteristics are affected by a change of market environment is analyzed.
