Frequency Limitation of Phonon Hole Burning in Piezoelectric Powders

In the bit memory system composed of phonon holes, the frequency region in which holes can he written and read determines memory capacity. We studied the factors that limit the frequency range. We also attempted to write holes into samples with different particle dimensions and found that holes could be written in the frequency region of the fundamental resonant oscillation. No trace of hole was detected in the frequency regions of higher harmonics oscillations, and no hole was written into the samples in which finer particles electrostatically adhered to the particles and hindered their oscillation.
