Phonon hole burning phenomena were observed in two kinds of powder, KH_2PO_4 and SiO_2. The mechanism of hole formation was investigated. Through measurement of the electrical impedance of a parallel-plate capacitor filled with KDP powder, it was revealed that a hole was produced with increase of oscillation damping. In the SiO_2 sample, decrease of the damping constant was observed by measurements of the decay time of free oscillation. Holes were represented by the change of the characteristics of oscillation. Obtained results were explained as the contribution of vibrating dislocations in the particles.
