The purpose of this study was to investigate feelings of nurses on the scene of families' determination for their young children's bone marrow transplantation (BMT). Semi-structured interviews were taken with four nurses by author. The nurses had been experienced in working at hematology/oncology unit where children have BMT. The interviews were recorded on tapes and were analyzed on qualitative analysis method. On this study, nurses told the time when families made decisions for their toddler's BMT under risky condition as a memorable scene. The following results were obtained as nurses feelings. 1. Nurses were puzzled by families' decisions that their children had BMT. Because nurses not only understood that these children needed to take BMT for being cured of their diseases but had experienced to lose children after BMT under risky condition. 2. Nurses hoped that families decided their children to take BMT after their understanding both of its effects and risks. 3. All of nurses were puzzled what to be and to do for the families at the scene of the decision for their children's BMT because some of topics were relation to children's death. Some nurses thought their roles depending on the relationship with families. 4. Nurses were puzzled by families' decisions that their children had BMT, but they finally felt that they would like to support the decisions. Some nurses understood the process of families' decisions, and others accepted these decisions without doing anything.
