Trimethoxyl[2.2.3]metacyclophanes 5 and 8 were prepared and it was proved by ^1H-NMR spectra that the conformational change between 2,3-alternate and the cone conformers. The comparison between the dynamic NMR spectra of 8 and the computer-simulated spectra led to the energy barrier (ΔG^‡_<298°K>: 78.67±4.02 KJ mol^<-1>) from 2,3-alternate to cone conformers of 8.
