1. Preface 2. The Chapter of the "Chung-yung" (中庸) and its Editor The "Cung-yung" (中庸), namely one volume of the "Li-chi" (礼記) is an extract from the "Tzu-ssu-tzu" (子思子). And the "Tzu-ssu-tzu" (子思子) is Tzu-ssu (子思)'s work or at least his successor's edition of Tzu-ssu's memoirs. 3. The Principle of Morality in the "Chung-yung" (中庸) Michi (way), Chu (moderation), Jin (benevolence), Rei (propriety), Makoto (sincerity). 4. Conclusion The "Chung-yung" (中庸) is a book of the "michi," and contents of michi are as follows: (1) It takes the makoto as a principle in action of moral practice. (a side of cause) (2) It takes the chu as a principle of harmony. (a side of appearance) (3) It takes the rei as a principle of control. (a side of form) (4) It takes the jin as a principle of unification. (a side of result) In short, chu, jin, rei, and makoto are practised under the so-called mihci as their central point, having mutual relations with each other.
