This paper is part of a research on companies that employ handicapped persons in order to identify and clarify problems that such employment entails. The main reason a company employs handicapped persons is to establish its corporate social responsibility (CSR) as an index for planning social contribution. Primarily, I examine the general idea and merit of CSR. I then introduce a method for examining CSR and a policy to incorporate employment of handicapped persons by analyzing an existing investigation document and the results of my original interview investigation. The analyzed results are:(i) the legal obligation of the employment of handicapped persons is not kept and to overcome this CSR is another approach as it is good for society and good for business,(ii) a positive attitude in company management to join CSR and employ handicapped persons is needed,(iii) to facilitate the smooth operation of CSR when CSR is well adopted or not so well adopted some administrative support is needed. The author concludes that CSR is a very useful general idea for expanding the potential of employment of handicapped persons. In recent years a new movement has been born in the area of handicapped person employment, and companies adapting it have been attracting attention. Companies are asked to accommodate handicapped people from the viewpoint of CSR. It is thought that the CSR-cored actions in concert with companies will promote employment of the handicapped.
