Social psychology may be defined as the science of human mind and behavior in social context. The predictive power of the discipline is, however, in a somewhat poor state. Social psychology can explain at most only 40 percent of the variance of human social behavior. This is partly because the human mind is too rich and complicated for successful theorizing. But greater responsibility may be assigned to the attitude of researchers in theory construction: the simpler, the better. In the present article, it was stressed that future theories in social psychology should be multidimensional, corresponding to the real complexity of human nature. It was also suggested that the use of computers and the multidimensional approach would be effective and necessary in all phases of research in social psychology.
