Organic field effect transistors (OFETs) are currently attracting considerable attention because of their possible novel opportunities for flexible, large area, and low cost electronics. Here we report on the current understanding on the basic aspect of organic transistors. The transport properties in organic semiconductors and the operation mechanisms of OFETs are discussed mainly based on the experiments on single crystal OFETs and their interface control.
