The Effect of Fatigue on Psychomoter Learning

The purpose of this study was to clarify the effects of fatigue on a task which involved a cognitive as well as a motor element. Five male and five female subjects were randomly placed in either the experimental or the control group. All subjects were required to perform the Simon computer game. However, the experimental group, after becoming exhausted by doing "step-ups" exercises, perfomed the game again. Results revealed no difference in the length of the Simon computer game between the two groups. The major cause for this lack of difference may depend upon individual ability at the game. The effect of exercise on mental and motor performance was discussed in relation to the results.
