The interuniversity satellite network, SCS, has been operated by NIME since 1996. Until now, many collaboration activities on SCS have been performed using two-way 1.5 Mbps channels among 150 sites in 120 universities, colleges and others, for a total of more than 20,000 hours, 8,500 sessions and 126,000 site *hours using easy multi-site and multi-channel operation capability. As shown by a review of reports and papers published regarding these activities, SCS has effectively contributed to the improvement of education, especially when the features of an interactive environment were properly used. This paper reviews the results of 9 years operation of SCS.
