• The purpose of this study is to make clear the proficiency of application software (word-processing, spreadsheet, database, browser, mailer, and presentation software) and to discuss the future of information education for social welfare students. The questionnaire was conducted to 286 social welfare students of Iwate Prefectural University. The results of analysis show significant achievement in information education. However, some efforts are still needed on improving the database software skill, making software instruction manual much more accessible, and enhancing the support function of helpdesk.
