The systematic description of 45 cassidulinids (including four unnamed) which are already proposed by various workers is given in this paper. The methods of study are the same as in Nomura (1983b). Systematic criteria for hierarchical classification of the Cassidulinidae are reviewed and discussed in the scheme of phylogeny. Ontogenetic changes are demonstrated in the shapes of aperture and perforation, which are as important in determining generic relationship as wall structure and stratigraphic occurrences. From the standpoint of these characters, 11 phylogenetic trends of the Cassidulinidae are recognized as follows : Islandiella group characterized by radially built texture and the apertural development of r→A and r→A→B; Cassidulinoides group with fibrous crystalline structure and uncoiled test form; Takayanagia group with fibrous crystalline structure and the apertural development of r→G; Paracassidulina group with intricate crystalline structure and the apertural development of r→G; Globocassidulina subglobosa and G. bisecta group characterized by intricate crystalline structure, and the apertural development of r→C, r→C→D, r→C→D→E, and r→C→F; however, G. subglobosa group is differentiated from G. bisecta group in having slit-shaped perforation; Evolvocassidulina group with intricate crystalline structure, the apertural development of r→C and r→C→D, and uncoiled test form; Burseolina group characterized by intricate crystalline structure and the apertural development of r→C→D→I; Ehrenbergina group characterized by a triangular test form and the apertural development of r→C→D→I; Hastilina group characterized by almost uncoiled test form, clumpy crystalline structure, and the apertural development of r→C→D; Cassidulina group with granular-built texture and the apertural development of r→C→D→H; Lernella group characterized by loosely coiled test form, intricate crystalline structure, and the apertural development of r→C→D→H.
