The corrosion experiments of tin in sulphuric acid solution carried out, are : (1) Relation between the corrosion of tin in sulphuric acid and concentration of acid. (2) Influence of stirring. (3) Influence of rising temperature. (4) Influence of addition of potassium bichromate, hydrogen peroxide, formaldehyde, cupric sulphate and 20 per cent of hydrochloric acid solution. (5) Corrosion velocity curve. Corrosion mechanism of tin in 5 to 30 per cent acid is of the depolarizing type, and that in 97 per cent acid is a case of diffusion control by sulphuric acid. Corrosion mechanism in the neighbourhood of 60 per cent acid is not yet understood and a further research is planning.
