The electric power costs in Japan are higher than in US and in other countries. The reason of higher costs is supposed that the excess capacities of power plants are needed because of the peak requirements of electric power in summer season. One of the solutions to reduce the peak supply of electric power by grids is introducing distributed power generation systems to the demand side. Distributed cogeneration systems are especially expected to offer the ability to maximize the given fuel's energy content. In this study, we have investigated the consumption rates of electricity at Tsuyama College of Technology campus for last three years. And profit evaluation of introducing small distributed power generating systems to the campus is carried out. The results show that the energy costs of the college are slightly down, but the costs of introducing the power generating sets do not pay reasonably. Lower costs of facilities are expected to make a profit with introducing small distributed power plants to the college.
