Occupational therapists working for children with autism have been used behavioral and sensory integrated approaches. Recently, therapists are more concerned with comunication with those children itself, rather than their sensory features. On the other hand, the faculties in Univeristy of North Carolina fas developed a unique program, called TEACCH(Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children). The TEACCH program has been introduced for children with autism in Japan. One of the traditional strengths of occupational therapy is using adaptation and grading of activities for people with special needs. In this case study, the TEACCH program was reframed in terms of occupational therapy traditional perspectives. The child achieved some skills dureing the sessions. However, a further study should be conducted to make the process of achieving the skills, and the use of those skills for children with autism as their ture occupation.
