The purpose of this article is to investigate the personal factors among young women, which could sustain their adaptation, First, the difficulties during adolescence especially for young women are illustrated : the diverse decision-making process for their career choice and the formation of gender-identity seem to cause anxiety in adolescence. Next, relations of the anxiety in adolescence and two personal traits are explored. One of those traits is "general self-efficacy" as a cognitive trait, and the other is "proactive personality" as a personality trait. Based on the findings, the effective factors or resources for sustaining adaptation among young women are implicated as follows : (1) being "foractive" or "proactive" (not passive) to effect environmental change, (2) having a confidence (efficacy beliefs) in their own behavior, (3) taking action easily.
