This report presents a case of a unilateral cleft lip and alveolus with displacement of the maxillary left central incisor adjacent to the alveolar cleft. At first, bone graft was performed to alveolar cleft in order to erupt the upper central incisor spontaneously. Because there was no extrusive movement of the upper central incisor by means of orthodontic traction, as well as spontaneous tooth movement, we decided to perform surgical luxation followed by orthodontic traction. The patient was followed up for two years after active orthodontic treatment and the result was considered satisfactory from the occlusal and periodontal standpoints.
