In the early spring of 1969,the author visited the Tsushima Islands located between the main Islands of Kyushu and Korea. A total of 418 packets of mosses, comprising 343 packets collected by the author and 75 packets by Dr. IWATSUKI, were studied through this work. Among them identified 102 species in which 29 species were new addition to the moss flora of the Islands. As reported by AMAKAWA & OSADA (1956), the moss flora of the Islands is composed mainly of the Holarctic and Asiatic-holarctic elements and partially of the tropical and subtropical ones. In this paper, however, twenty-nine species of mosses are reported to be new to the Islands. Of these species, Dicranoloma cylindrothecium, Theriotia lorifolia, Entodon curvatirameus, etc. have been known previously only from Korea and the southern half of the main Islands of Japan and southward. The ranges of the tropical species, such as Orthomniopsis japonica, Homaliadelphus targionianus, etc., were extended so far to the Tsushima Islands from the southern half of the main Islands of Japan. The close relationships between the floras of Korea, main islands of Japan, and the Tsushima Islands reported by AMAKAWA & OSADA (1956) were confirmed by the present data.
