The past fifteen years, many foreign people have come to Japan in order to teach English to junior and senior high school students as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs ). But there have been few empirical researches that evaluate how the ALTs affect the students'consciousness and English ability. Almost all junior high school students go on to high schools after the graduation from junior high schools. In order to investigate the effects that ALTs give junior high school students, it must be very significant and valuable to research them at senior high schools. However at senior high school, while teachers focus on teaching and education mainly, they don't have time to focus on researches. So the colleges of technology "Kosen" are the best institutes to investigate the effects of ALTs and the students who have been taught by ALTs at the junior high school level. As a result, it was suggested that ALTs made the students confused as far as understanding foreign people is concerned. It was also indicated that ALTs helped students improve their listening ability.
