The ba isotope effect in Ba_2YCu_3O_<7-σ> ceramic superconductors was studied by the Meissner effect. ^<134>Ba-rich Ba (the weight of ^<134>Ba being about 2.8 atomic units lighter than that of naturally obtained Ba) was introduced to obtain an isotope shift in T_c. No clear shifts in T_c are observed over the experimental resolution limit of temperature measurement.
