The diffusion equation for the number density of particles in a gravitational field is solved by taking an integral transform. We consider the response given by a constant input density at the boundary surface and that given by a source density which varies sinusoidally with time. In order to obtain the sinusoidal response, the boundary condition of absorption or reflection in a finite region is applied at the other side. These solutions, obtained as the transient responses of the diffusing particle density, show some shifts due to the gravitational field when compared with the conventional forms.
