Modes in a Parallel-Plate Guide Filled with a Magnetoplasma : Nuclear Science, Plasmas and Electric Discharges

The radio wave propagation in a parallel-plate guided magnetoplasma is studied. We introduce a classification chart consisting of five parameters to classify the propagation in the magnetoplasma and specify the dispersion patterns, and show that the chart is useful for the classification and understanding of the propagation. Electric field distributions of several modes identified in the parallel plate guide are presented and their characteristics are also discussed.
