The electrical conductivity σ of the system As-S has been measured over the range from room temperature to 550℃. As_2S_x with 2.6<x<20 is in the glassy state and those with 2.0<x<2.6 and 20<x<160 are in the crystalline state at room temperature. It has been found that the curve of log σ against the inverse temperature (1/T) for As_2S_x with 2.6<x<16 kinks at around the glass transition temperature. The kink becomes indistinct when the sulfur content of As_2S_3 is increased or decreased. An explanation of these results is given in terms of the temperature variation of the activation energy which may be affected by the inter-atomic distance, but hardly by the degree of disorder.
