The previously developed calculation by the present author of the naicrowave output power from avalanche diodes for the intermediate power magnitude is used to analyze the temperature dependence of the output power. It is found that the behavior of the germanium diodes having linearly graded junctions can be well interpreted in terms of the temperature dependence of the small signal impedance parameters. A theoretical design of the diodes having the best microwave performance over the practical operation temperature range is established.
