RNA blot hybridization was performed with cDNA clones of stored mRNA in dry seed of Pinus thunbergii. The stored mRNA species were preserved in the dry seeds for at least 14 years. One of the mRNAs disappeared rapidly during germination, while others were detected until a late stage of germination.
