• By sodium dodecyl sulfate-acrylamide gel electrophoresis, proteins of yeast mitochondrial ribosome were shown to be different from those of the cytoplasmic counter-part. Fourteen bands found with mitochondrial ribosome did not show any corre-spondence with those of the cytoplasmic type. Further, relative amounts of proteins with their molecular weight more than 50,000 were much greater in mitochondrial ribosome, while proteins with their molecular weight less than 27,000 were abundant in cytoplasmic type.
