The gibberellin content of radish plants doubled in response lo seed or seedling vernalization. Two zones of activity, I and II, were separated on TLC and detected using the 'Tan-ginbozu' dwarf rice seedling assay. Activity in zone II incrcased 6-fold in vernalized plants. Application of CCC after vernalization reduced final stem height greatly. No gibberellin activity was detected in such plants.
