An intelligent interface circuit for color plasma display panel(PDP)is developed, which can identify and accommodate the different types and formats of input signals automatically. It has a display capacity of normal VGA signals with different resolution and NTSC and PAL signals. The circuit can fit 21 inch PDP with the resolution of 640x480 and an aspect ratio of 4:3 and 42 inch PDP with the resolution of 852x480 and an aspect ratio of 16:9. In addition, its voice system is compatible to the new NICAM standard and has Dolby Pro Logic.
