The threshold voltage of conventional In-Plane-Switching(IPS)model is very high. From the concept of asymmetric weak anchoring in this paper, the asymmetric weak anchoring case were considered basing on elastic continuum theory of liquid crystal and analyzed by using variational method. The analytical expressions of Freederick's transition threshold for asymmetric weak anchoring IPS model were deduced. The asymmetric weak anchoring were obtained by photo control alignment. The result of experience expresses that the method of photo control alignment can get 82.5% threshold voltage compare to the strong anchoring.
