概要

• Treatment of 4-aminobenzofuran derivatives with hydrochloric acid led to the formation of 4-hydroxyindole derivatives in good yields, wheras alkaline hydrolysis of 4-acyl-aminobenzofurans gave 4-aminobenzofurans normally. Synthesis of pyrrolocoumarins and furoquinolones by thermal condensation of those above mentioned compounds with phenylmalonates are also described.
