In this paper larval characteristics of the following five species belonging to the Harpalini were described : -Harpalus (Harpalus) corporosus (Motschulsky) (1st, 2nd and third instars), H. (H.) discrepans Morawitz (1st, 2nd and 3rd instars), Trichotichnus (Trichotichnus) kantoonus Habu (1st and 3rd instars), Acupa1pus (Acupalpus) inornatus Bates (1st and 3rd instars), and Stenolophus (Stenolophus) connotatus Bates (1st, 2nd and 3rd instars). Except the single third instar larva of Trichotichnus kantoonus collected in fields, all specimens were obtained by laboratory breeding. Trichotichnus kantoonus is of the hibernal type, while the four others are of the aestival type. Trichotichnus kantoonus has five long setae on each cercus in the third instar as well as in the first instar. The stipes of the maxillae (Fig. 20) of this species has less dense setae on the inner side like in Acupalpus (Fig. 30), Stenolophus (Fig. 35), and Anoplogenius, all of which belong to the subtribe Stenolophina, while in Anisodactylus, Platymetopus, and Harpalus (of. Fig. 8 in part I) it is with very dense, brush-like setae so far as the authors are aware. As T. dichrous (Dejean) from North America, according to the figure drawn by Chu (1945), has dense brush-like setae on the inner side of the stipes, this characteristic seems not to be of generic value.
