A New Species of Mycterothrips (Thysanoptera : Thripidae) from Willow Trees in Japan

Mycterothrips japonicus sp. nov. is described and illustrated from willow trees in Japan. It is very similar to an Eurasian species, Mycterothrips salicis (Reuter), but is distinguished by the position of the posteromedian setae on the seventh abdominal sternum.
