The chromosomes of two sea-urchins, Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus (A.Agassiz) and Anthocidaris crossispina (A.Agassiz), were investigated in male germ-cellsin the course of spermatogenesis. The results are sumarized as follows: 1. The chromosome number was found to be 42 (2n) and 21 (n) in both species. 2. Throughthe course of two meiotic divisions, there was found no special chromosome either in shape or in behaviour.
