In the present paper all the fishes belonging to the families, Gobiesocidae, Limnichthidae, Callionymidae, Parapercidae, Brotulidae, Bothidae and Soleidae, may be known.These fishes contain fourteen species, including one new species, the following four of which are the additional species to the ichthyo-fauna of both Japan and the Riu-Kiu Islands. 1. Limnichthys fasciatus Waite Local.-: Okinawa-Honto. 2. Parapercis cylindrica (Bloch) Locals.-: Okinawa-Honto and Miyako Island. 3.Monothrix polylepis Ogilby Locals.-: Okinawa-Honto and Miyako Island. 4. Dinematichthys riukiuensis n. sp. Total length 101.7mm; standard length 90.3mm. Depth 4.1 in length; head 3.5. Snout 4.1 in head; eye 9.3; interorbital space 3.2; depth of caudal peduncle 6.3; maxillary 2. D. 77; A. 61; V. 1. Scales in longitudinal series 127. Body cylindrical anteriorly, more or less compressed posteriorly; snout short, obtuse; maxillary extending, backward far beyond the hind margin of eye; eye very small, 2.8 in interorbital space; opercle with one short spine; tongue somewhat pointed; dorsal and anal not continuous with caudal; caudal 10.9 in length; ventral close together, 4.2 in length, inserted on throat just before the base of pectoral, but not extending to anus; small, well-inbricated, cycloid scales covering body entirely; scales on predorsal extending forward to above the hind margin of preopercle; cheek covered with minute cycloid scales; opercle, infraorbital and snout naked; jaws, vomers and palatines with bands of minute spine-like teeth. Color in formalin pale brown generally; fins pale. This new species closely resembles Gunther's D. mizolepis. It is, however, distinguishable from the latter in having smaller eyes, less number of dorsal rays and more number of scales in the longitudinal series. Localities-: Ishigaki Island (one specimen, 101.7mm in total length) and Okinawa-Honto (eight specimens, 51.4mm to 83mm in total length).
