Recently there have been several attempts to generate pseudo-random numbers using chaotic maps. For several ergodic maps, it is known that the auto-correlation functions, which give linear dependency, are equal to the delta function. We introduce joint moment functions, which give nonlinear dependency, to discriminate completely random sequences from not ones. These functions lead us to the conclusion that the famous logistic map is not completely random.
