Various fragments of the haltere discs from mature larvae of Sarcophaga peregrina were implanted into host larvae of the same age to construct its fate map. The implants were metamorphosed with the host and the differentiated adult structures were analyzed. Almost all markers of adult structures developed from the transplanted disc fragments. The "adventitious bristles" (AB) that are never seen in the normal adult differentiated frequently from the anterior part of the haltere discs. On the basis of the results obtained from the transplanted disc fragments, a fate map of the haltere disc was constructed. This fate map is basically similar to that of Drosophila reported by Ouweneel and van der Meer (1973).
