Polyimide Waveguides Equipped with Dielectric Multilayer Filter(Special Issue on Current Electromechanical Devices and Their Materials with Recent Innovations)

We report a directly deposited dielectric multilayer onto an end face of a fluorinated polyimide optical waveguide[1], [2]by ion beam sputtering process. This dielectric multilayer(Ta_2O_5/SiO_2)acts on a wavelength separation filter which passes 1310nm wavelength signal and reflects 1550nm wavelength signal.
