Trading on a public network is a new challenge. As smart cards [1] are already often used for payment (electronic purse, etc), it seems natural to design a system that would allow to use the smart card for such a purpose. This technical report presents a complete architecture based on the implementation of a Central Transaction Manager to supervize all transactions. All components taking part in the transaction are precisely described. Classical requirements of distributed transactions have to be ensured. The paper shows that not only security issues are considered [2] but also recoverability challenges are discussed. Recoverability is ensured with the help of action logs which are also presented.
