Inverse Photon Tracing for Interactive Global Illumination

Photon mapping methods are often used for simulating global illumination, but they are not sufficient yet, and the following two items are specially shown as the problem. First, these methods should have spent not a little time in order to simulate invisible effects which are out of a field of vision. Second, a movement of photon is simulated accurately even if an influence on the image is small. We propose a novel method to solve these non-efficiencies of photon mapping using importons as dominator instead of photons. And an importon is traced through the scene data structure which has several levels of detail in order to compute color of the pixel. PC cluster is also used to help interactive simulation of global illumination.
