• The 45 strains of the tubercle bacilli isolated from the urological specimens, and the laboratory strains of bovine tubercle bacilli were intrabenously injected into the auricular veins of the rabbit in a very small quantity, the pathological findings in the kindneys examined, with the following data: 1, The strains which had a strong pathogeny in case of the rabbit (i. e. the bovine type tubercle bacilli and the "Suzuki C Strain" of the human case of tuberculosis produced the general miliary tuberculosis, while in the certain layer of the kidneys, bilateral miliary tuberculosis. 2) These strains of the urological tuberculosis caused a slight general tuberculosis, while there developed almost no changes in the kidneys of the rabbits. 3) With the tubercle bacilli isolated from the urological system, there were produced in a majority of the strains wedge-like infiltrations in the cortical layer of the kidneys. They were doubtlessly the products of the tubercle bacilli, produced in the inter-lobular blood capilaries or Ludwig's nourishing branchlets, where the infected masses had been detained in the capilaries and formed the changes. 4) The majority of the strains of the tubercle bacilli isolated from the urological system had generally a very weak pathogeny in case of rabbits, while they produced chronic tuberculous foci in all parts of the kidneys, often producing isolated lateral tuberculosis in the parenchymal papules. The features are very closely related to those found in chronic human kidney tuberculosis. 5) The tubercle bacilli I isolated from the tuberculous foci of the urological system had been mostly weakly virulent strains; the animals I employed in my experiment were mostly the ones having little susceptibility to tubercle bacilli, and the viscera of the animals had a high susceptibility to tubercle bacilli. These points had been considered especially to favour the production of experimental chronic kidney tuberculosis.
