There have been rival oponions on the mechanism of the flutter and fibrillation, namely on one hand the circus movement theory by Lewis & Rosenblueth and on the other hand ectopic focus theory by Scherf & Prinzmetal. However, Brown reported the case in which the flutters with these two natures were induced simultaneously in the dog's auricles. Kato reported that there were both the types of the auricular flutter in this experimental studies. Moreover, Kato & Kimura too reported the clinical cases of the auricular flutters with the circus movement like and ectopic focus like patterns by the time analysis of the stimulus arrival in regard to the electrocardiograms recorded from the right auricular cavity and the esophagus. Our previous studies were performed histologically physiologically on the specific muscle of stimulus conduction in the auricle, and some pathways were observed from the sinus to the Tawara's node and to the left auricle. The present studies on the auricular flutter were executed on the viewpoint that the specific system would have some relation to this.
